Blossom done swimming by AO968 Blossom done swimming by AO968
Another pic where I just couldn't decide on details.

I haven't made a pic of Blossom in her red bathingsuit in a long time, so I thought I'd make one.

Well, that would ruin the whole idea behind this pic. Maybe if I added the rest of her lifeguard gear, it would've made more sense... ^^;

AO, just because Seir has categorically showcased flaws in your artwork doesn't mean he dislike you as an individual--If anything, his constant watching of your art is a hope for your improvement. It's only because you think his comments are INSULTS that you can't glean any use from them, and that frustrates him. Please pay attention at what he has to say. Artists are supposed to give and receive criticism so we can achieve that pinnacle of satisfaction with ourselves and our audience. At least consider what I've said honestly, without preconception that he's out to get you. Try experimenting with lines, to shift the pose, body, or perspective. It couldn't hurt.

Yikes!

The perspective is way off. If you look at the side of the pool and the actual floor. That perspective is from a bird's eye view. So if that's the dimension you picked. Then we should see Blossom at that exact same perspective as well.

Oh by the way, I decide to test out one of your pictures, and it turns out that your stuff looks a lot better in Black and white, mainly because you still have that obvious segmented looking color issue. Ianmeta can back me up on this.

Seir, you apparently still haven't learned that I don't approve of your criticism and will ignore most of what you say, so why are you so stubborn?

If you really wish to show professionalism, leave me alone, like I asked of you many times before and let othes decide whether they like my style or not, don't make that decision for them.

and you apparently haven't learned that not all criticism must have a good point in them as well. And as far as showing professionality, I've done plenty of those in the past to other artists. You on the other hand are one of those people that seem to just can't get the fact straight between bashing/critiquing.

I have a feeling you still don't understand my point.

If there's anything you should've learned by now it would be that I am different from those 'other artists' you speak of, namely that I don't take criticism well, especially if it focuses on too many points at once. Just because I'm indifferent towards C&C, doesn't mean I expect a full-blown analysis of my work either. I would've marked 'Advanced Critique Encouraged' if I did.

And maybe you never learned it, but I learned that good criticism will definitely help a person. Maybe it won't help my art as a whole much, but it WILL make me believe your good intentions more and make me feel more confident about my work. Once I know what parts people find I do well on, I don't have to try to make those look better if it's not necessary and can focus on the things that need improvement.

Also, just so you know: your advice doesn't completely fall on deaf ears, but I can't use it all just yet. I can only handle one step at a time, any more and I'll black out. Once I get one thing sorted, I'll move on to the next.
I'm already doing two things at once (poses and backgrounds), so I'm technically already doing more than I usually can handle. I'll get to my coloring skills once I got everything else sorted out and NOT sooner, so any advice on that will be put aside until I think I'm ready to learn it. For now, it's part of my style, so I'm not willing to change it until I'm ready to take another big step to style improvement.

Anyway, just have patience and don't jump all over me if I make too many mistakes. I'm a slow learner, but I'll pick it all up eventually. It might take months, might even take years, but I'll get there one way or another.

I give good critique when you actually deserve it. In you case since your drawings seems to have the exact same mistakes, and the exact same excuse being it's "your style" doesn't cut it anymore.

...all I said was work on the perspective and draw the picture in just black and white, that means don't even touch the color pencil....I don't think that's very advance at all. That's 1 1/2 step there.

So in other words you'll do it when you feel like it. Ah so I see you use the same logic with your personal Hygiene as well? Sorry dude, you're going to have to change that attitude of yours if you want to really improve on your work. But again it's really up to you.

Because I know you're drawing them in your most comfortable "style" that's why I...no....WE keep on seeing the exact same looking pose and perspective every single time.

Anwyays that's all I have to say for now.

"I give good critique when you actually deserve it. "
Okay, that's just a slap in the face. Putting people down like this will NOT help them improve.

"In you case since your drawings seems to have the exact same mistakes, and the exact same excuse being it's "your style" doesn't cut it anymore."
When drawing pictures, people develop habits. Habits can't be broken in a day.

"all I said was work on the perspective and draw the picture in just black and white, that means don't even touch the color pencil....I don't think that's very advance at all."
Okay, I agree about the perspective, but he's still a beginner with it. And why do you want him to stop coloring his pictures? His coloring is just fine; so what if there are some minor mistakes? Coloring effectively with colored pencils is very difficult if you want to achieve anything even half as good as AO's coloring.

Also, in general, you REALLY oughta show more courtesy with your comments. Pointing out just the negatives makes it seem like you're basicly saying "Your art sucks." It IS possible to criticize something without sounding like a jerk...

That's not a let down, that is a reality check. I already gave him good comments in the past, but once I gave that comment, that is it. I don't need to repeat what he's doing right over and over again, he should know by now. What he's doing wrong/what doesn't look right, should be the one at focus.

And which is why he/anyone else should start as soon as possible if you want to break that habit.

When I see stripe like segments when it's obviously not a stripe shirt or object, then it's no longer a minor mistake. Coloring with different medium is indeed very difficult if you're not too familiar with it. That is why you look up tutorials or read a book for that matter to get a better knowledge on how to handle that medium. The more you have knowledge on what that tool is capable off, the more you have mastery over it. Just because it's difficult that doesn't mean it's impossible. It's only impossible if you don't pursue it!

Actually that's saying "improve this, it'll look much better if you pull it off" If you're still thinking that "it sucks" then that's your loss. YOu learn from your mistakes, not make excuses on how to make that mistake seem right.

Okay, I think it's obvious that this arguement is going to go nowhere fast(er ). Seir, is it REALLY so hard for you to just leave AO alone? All this fighting is just a major pain in the arse.

What part of my critique says I'm making the decisions for other people? I never said that they shouldn't or should like your drawings/style. Don't hallucinate.

Funny you should say that.

In the episode Powerprof. we first see this swimsuit. Along with that, we also see her having a whistle and those boards lifeguards use to help people stay afloat, so I don't think you're too far off with that idea.
